Afiwe is a growing community publishing and storytelling platform celebrating African, Caribbean and Black British stories, culture, heritage and creativity.
Afiwe began through community storytelling in Waltham Forest, bringing together residents, organisations, creatives and community voices. It is rooted in Waltham Forest, while its stories, audiences and collaborations can extend across London and beyond.
Our work now spans print publishing, digital stories, interviews, culture, events and creative collaborations.
At the heart of Afiwe is a simple idea: our stories matter. They deserve to be found, read, shared and preserved.
Afiwe is continuing to develop its editorial and community model. As that work evolves, we will share more about how people can participate in and help shape its future.
OUR STORIES. OUR CULTURE. OUR COMMUNITY.
